The Foundation’s main winner for July is Jane Souter who collects this month’s £1,000 prize and is pictured wearing her City colours.
Jane is delighted with her win and says that she is keen to restart the research of her family tree so will use the money to buy a laptop as well as making a donation to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Jane comes from a family of staunch City supporters and remembers her early days at the Park,
“My first memories of Exeter City go back to when my dad and brother were season ticket holders in the late 70s/early 80s. If my brother couldn't make a home match, Dad took me instead. It was the era of John Delve, Peter Hatch, Tony Kellow, Len Bond, to name a few.
"Since I've moved away I've followed from a distance, but have managed to attend some away matches local to me such as Wycombe, Oxford and Southampton. And, of course, trips to Wembley for play off finals. My most memorable match was the play off semi final against Oxford, the most tense penalty shoot out ever, and with the best outcome.
"I love the fact that little Exeter City can nurture young talent, who serve the club before going on to bigger and brighter futures, but who still seem to value where they came from. And some even come back later on in their careers, which says a lot about the whole ethos of the club.
"I am immensely proud to support ECFC and all that they have achieved, coming back from the brink of extinction due to the love and dedication of true fans.”
