Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts ahead of the Grecians' Emirates FA Cup Third Round clash with Championship side Oxford United at SJP on Saturday.
The match against the inform Yellows means it's a break from league action for City, who will look to make it into round four of the competition for the first time since 1981. Despite a disappointing start to 2025 in League One, Nicholson believes the team go into the game full of confidence and will use experiences from the Christmas period to put in their best performance.
"We are familiar with Oxford and have a lot of players still involved from the times we have played them in recent years. They have a new manager which has shown an upturn in form, but the FA Cup is a great leveller.
"We want to feel the excitement, and feel the history, and we want to feel the opportunity to make history and be able to watch that fourth round draw with real excitement.
"It's business as usual for us, but with a whole lot more going on on the outside that the fanbase can go and enjoy."
