Assistant manager Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts as the Grecians secured top sport in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy with a 3-2 win at Bristol Rovers.
Demetri Mitchell marked his return after a year out with a goal, while Jay Bird and Millenic Alli also bagged, and Nicholson was content with the evening at the Memorial Stadium.
"Tonight was about a group of individuals showing what they are about, and it went how we had hoped."
"Individual players got to do their things and young players got to experience what was a fairly strong Bristol team and got to see the level.
"They got to see where they need to get to. At the end, it was great to see Demi and Vinnie coming on, and special shout out to Demi for getting the goal - it felt written in the stars.
"Ever one of us is really pleased for him."
