Match Preview: Blackpool (A)

Match preview image for the Blackpool away fixture

Exeter City head to Blackpool on Saturday hoping to build on their 2-0 win at Bolton Wanderers last time out, having had the opportunity to take a break from league action during the international fixture window.

City have won 8 of their last 12 away games and will hope to become the first City side to ever win at Bloomfield Road, with the Grecians not scoring at the ground since the 2017 league play-offs.

Blackpool come into the game with a new manager - Steve Bruce replacing Neil Critchley at the helm during the international break - and this will be Bruce's first match in the dugout.

They've had a tough start to the season with two points from four games, though their last fixture was a 4-1 win over Crewe Alexandra on the Bristol Street Motors Trophy on August 3.

Gary Caldwell's Thoughts

Manager Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as Exeter City head to Blackpool.

After the international break that saw the Grecians without a game last weekend, the game takes on extra significance with the appointment of Steve Bruce as the new Tangerines boss, something which Caldwell feels changes the dynamic of the game.
