Huddersfield away match preview image

Exeter City will be looking to bounce-back from Tuesday night's defeat to Reading with a trip to the John Smith's Stadium to take on fellow play-off spot occupiers Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The Grecians were beaten 2-1 by Reading at St James Park in midweek in what was a first defeat since mid-September, while the Terriers, who sit level on points with Gary Caldwell's side, held Wrexham to a goalless draw in North Wales.

This will be City's first trip to Huddersfield since 2012, with the teams not facing other since Town's 2-0 win in February of the 2011/12 season.

Gary Caldwell's thoughts

Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell has reflected on two-years as Exeter City boss, ahead of Saturday's trip to face Huddersfield Town.

City were narrowly defeated 2-1 on Tuesday night by Reading and Gary is looking forward to the trip to Huddersfield where he is looking for the team to start a new unbeaten run.

"We have to learn the lessons from Tuesday night, we know there will be difficult moments and setbacks in terms of results and it's how you react to them.

"It will be a tough match. They are very well coached and have a clear identity so we need to be prepared for that. We have to be prepared to be ourselves and take our best version of ourselves, bring our identity to the game and try and dominate the game.

"We have to take the defeat on Tuesday, and use that as motivation, but I'm sure come kick-off the players will be ready to go get another unbeaten run going."
