City captain Pierce Sweeney has given his thoughts ahead of City’s trip to Blackpool on Saturday, hoping not to fall victim to the ‘new manager bounce.’
The Grecians make another journey north after a 2-0 win at Bolton Wanderers a fortnight ago hoping to pick up a first ever win at Bloomfield Road, with Blackpool now under the management of Steve Bruce.
“We went to Bolton last week and won on the back of a 7-0 last season, and our motivation this weekend has to be the same,” Sweens said.
“We got there under no pressure but we are going to look to win and put our stamp on the game, and execute our game."
“Steve Bruce is the manager now and as someone who has managed over 1,000 games, he has had a fantastic career and he will get them going. He will want to set a good marker of his reign there, so it is going to be difficult.”
