Skipper Pierce Sweeney has given his thoughts ahead of a trip to Bristol City on Saturday, the next of the Grecians' pre-season friendlies as the season closes in.
City are unbeaten in pre-season so far by face their toughest challenge of the summer as they face the side that finished 11th in the Championship last season, and who have proven a difficult opponent in the past - The Robins ran out 4-0 winners in this same fixture almost a year ago to the day.
"I think this will be a much bigger challenge for us. Oxford were in League One last year and we played them a couple of times so we knew what they were about.
"It's going to be another test, another challenge, and I know a couple of their players so it'll be nice to catch up with them too. For us, it's a step forward towards Rotherham, and hopefully this will be close to what we can expect on the opening day."
