City captain Pierce Sweeney was in a reflective mood when he gave his reaction to the Grecians' 3-0 loss at Wrexham.

Three headers condemned City to defeat, and Pierce analysed the result.

"I think we're really good when things go our way," said the Irishman. "When things go against us we have to learn how to wrestle the game back in our favour and play the way we want to play.

"Today they played the way they wanted to play, bar a couple of opportunities for us in the first half."

The Grecians had opportunities to get back into the game in the second half but couldn't find that elusive goal to pull the game back within reach before Wrexham added a third with 20 minutes remaining.

"We came out in the second half and huffed and puffed and had some good opportunities and played a lot better."

"We've seen us do that an awful lot over the last couple of seasons, especially in the games when we're losing, we've got to come out and do that from minute one."
