Having played in both fixtures today, Tom Dean shared his thoughts after the latter game against the Gulls.
This fixture was the first time the young wing-back had played in front of a crowd of that size with a few thousand at Plainmoor, and he reflected on that experience compared to the win against Brentford B at the training ground earlier today.
“It was very contrasting with the fans here at Torquay whereas we were behind closed doors at the training ground,” Tom said. “That’s a different experience, that’s probably the first time I’ve played in front of that many people.
“On the pitch I feel like the tempo of the game was a little bit different between the two games.
Tom played at right-wing back on both occasions and did well to attack the Torquay penalty area on several occasions.
“I was pleased, I was told by the gaffer to stay high on the half-way line, I got down the right flank a few times, put a few balls in.
“Potentially a different day I could’ve got a couple of assists and a goal.”
