Vacancies: Catering Staff

We are recruiting Catering Staff to join the team at Coach Road (Newton Abbot) in line with our partnership with the Devon FA.  We are committed to support the Devon County FA with their growth and sustainability initiatives at Coach Road for an initial period of 12 months and plan to deliver a refreshed menu at The County Ground to match the refurbished facilities inside the venue.

Sustainability, of both a financial and environmental nature, is a key strategic focus for Devon County FA and the Club and we are pleased to bring our experience and expertise in delivering quality, affordable and responsibly sourced food and beverage to this partnership. We are really excited to be working with the Devon FA to deliver more for the Devon Football Family and visitors at The County Ground and this is a great time to join the team.

The catering team will report into our Events Operations Manager and be responsible for the smooth and effective operation of the catering function. Elements of this role will be front of house and as part of the catering team candidates will need to ensure visitors receive a warm welcome, efficient and informative service and they leave having had a great experience.  

Preparing and serving beverages and snacks will form part of the catering teams duties and team members will need to have a full understanding of the menu offered to be able to provide full product knowledge to customers. Candidates will need to have great customer service skills and ensure positive interaction with all customers ensuring orders are taken correctly and customer needs and preferences are assessed and met.

Cash and card handling procedures will need to be complied with and as part of the catering team you will support with deliveries, stock requirements, rotation and replenishment of stock. Delivering high standards of food hygiene and cleanliness is essential and ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies. 

A working knowledge and certification in food hygiene, allergies and health & safety compliance would be beneficial and hospitality experience and experience of supervisory a team is desirable.  Candidates must have excellent communication and numeric skills and a positive dynamic mindset with an ability to adapt and resolve problems.

This role requires physical stamina as you will be moving stock and working within a fast-paced environment. A strong work ethic and flexible approach to working pattern is essential in line with the business needs and industry demands.

Available Roles

We have part-time and casual worker roles available and shifts will include daytime, evenings and weekends (to include bank holidays) in line with the opening times.
