Player Biography

Defender Tristan Crama joined the Grecians on a season-long loan from Brentford FC during the Summer Transfer Window.

The French centre-back is the ninth player Gary Caldwell has brought into the club this summer, and the second from a Premier League club.

This will be the second loan of Tristan’s career, following a successful spell last season at fellow League One side Bristol Rovers, where he made 34 appearances for the Gas, including home and away against City.

Born in Béziers in the south of France, Tristan began his career as a holding midfielder in the academy of his local club, AS Béziers. As he progressed into the club’s first team in the French third tier, his position switched from midfield to centre-half, which led to interest from Brentford’s B team.

That interest resulted in a transfer to West London, where he’s remained since, playing for the B team while also making the first team bench on five occasions. After spending last season at Rovers, where he mainly started when fit, Tristan joined Brentford on their pre-season trip to Portugal before linking up with the Grecians.

Tristan told us how he was looking forward to building on the experience he gained in Bristol with his move to City.

“I enjoyed myself at Bristol, it was my first loan and my first year in English professional football,” Tristan said.

“I enjoyed every game and it was a really good season for me, I learned a lot from this. I’m looking forward to my new loan.”
