Exeter-born left-back Ben Purrington signed for City for an undisclosed fee from Scottish Premier League side Ross County in January 2024.

Growing up watching the Grecians from the Big Bank, Purrington returns home to the city after beginning his career down the road at Plymouth Argyle at the age of 9, coming through the Greens’ academy to make 64 first team appearances.

As well as Ross County, he has also featured for AFC Wimbledon, Rotherham United and Charlton Athletic, for whom he scored at Wembley as they were promoted to the Championship in 2019. 

He scored his first Grecian goal in March 2024, netting a 6th minute header coincidentally against Charlton.
