Exeter City Women face their final game of 2024 on Sunday afternoon, Lewes are the visitors to Coach Road with a Grecians victory elevating the team to second place in the Southern Premier ahead of 2025.
2024 has been a memorable year for City, from promotion in May, to a second successive Devon County Cup victory and reaching the FA Cup Fourth Round. Victory on Sunday to finish off the year sitting in second place in the division would round off a near perfect 12 months for Abbie Britton’s side and give plenty of optimism for 2025.

The Opposition
Following relegation from the Barclays Championship, there were big changes at Lewes' Dripping Pan over the Summer months, with manager Natalie Lawrence promoted to the role following her previous position as assistant manager.
A significant overhaul of the playing squad transpired, only three of last season’s squad, Lois Roche, Hannah Godfrey and Emily Moore, were retained to join a host of new signings.
Layla Proctor and Olivia Carpenter have arrived from Elite Academy football, with Mia Adaway and Muna Eze signing from Portsmouth and London City Lionesses respectively. Ella Hunkin and Adekite Fatuga-Dada have experience of tier three football following their spells with London Bees and MK Dons, whilst Poppy Derhun and Sarah Harvey both arrive from college football in the United States.
It has been a steady season for the Rooks, victories over Oxford United, Plymouth Argyle, Cheltenham Town, MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon contributing to their fifth position in the current league table. Lawrence will be keen to see her team bounce back from last weekend’s 4-0 FA Cup defeat to Charlton Athletic in Sunday’s contest.
Abbie Britton's thoughts
💬 "It's going to be a more difficult test than when we played them the first time around."
Abbie Britton previewed the Lewes game, and also reflected on the last 12 months for Exeter City Women ⬇️
Coach Road
Promotion to the third tier of women's football meant that City had to search for a new home alongside St James Park for the 2024/25 season, resulting in Newton Abbot's Coach Road as the team's second home venue.

Previous Encounter
The two teams have met once already this season, goals from Sarah Stacey (2), Sophie Gillies and Bow Jackson sealing a 4-0 victory in East Sussex back in August. Despite the scoreline, it was an even contest, and the Grecians will be expecting a challenging test at the weekend ⬇️
