Exeter City is delighted to announce that Caleb Watts has signed a contract extension until the end of the 24/25 season.
The Australian midfielder has made thirty appearances in red and white since joining City in September 2023. He would have a dream debut for the club, scoring the only goal after coming on a sub against Cheltenham Town at SJP – 24 hours after signing.
This season Caleb has made 19 appearances so far, scoring the winner on the opening day against Rotherham United at SJP and chipping in with a couple of assists this season, including that stunning turn against Oxford United that led to Vincent Harper’s goal.

The 23-year-old has quickly become a fan favourite in the last couple of months, with his high-energy, committed displays in attacking midfield.
Speaking about signing an extension, Caleb said: “It was an easy decision to make. The club has kept faith with me through injuries, especially the gaffer so I want to repay that faith.
“I felt at the start of the season if I got a run and stayed fit, I could show the club and the fans what I’m capable and I feel I’ve been doing ok, but I’m capable of much more and hopefully I can do that in the second half of the season.
Speaking about the extension, manager Gary Caldwell added: “Caleb has done brilliant in the last couple of months, and it is testament to him and the fitness staff.
Caleb is starting to show the form we believed he could show when we signed him. He has worked hard and hopefully he’s over it now and can show that form for the rest of the season and beyond.
“We would like him to stay at the club for a long time, but he has to play consistently for along period of time. He’s done it for a short spell recently which is great and hopefully he can have a big impact on the team for the rest of the season and we can keep him at the club for a number of years."
