Exeter City is delighted to announce that Reece Cole has signed a new contract with the club, lasting until at least the end of the 2025/26 season.
This is the third contract that Reece has signed at City in little over 12 months, highlighting his meteoric rise from playing non-league football to finishing as a key player and the Grecians’ top scorer last season.
The 26-year-old was already under contract until the end of this season, but has now extended his stay in Devon until 2026, with a club-held option for a further year, which could keep him in red and white until at least 2027.
Since joining from Hayes and Yeading after impressing on trial last summer, Reece has made 42 appearances while ‘wallop-boshing’ seven goals.
The midfielder made an impression almost instantly on Grecian supporters with a last-minute half-volley against Reading in August, before also netting fantastic match-winners against Barnsley, Cheltenham, Burton and Stevenage.
On signing his new deal, Reece told us: “I’m really pleased to sign another extension, it’s been a whirlwind year for me, something I never thought would happen again."
Manager Gary Caldwell added: “Reece has shown in one season how good he is but we still believe he has even more potential and even more to grow into as a player.
“Hopefully he can do that over the number of years he’s going to be here.”
Despite having only been at the club a season, Reece has already cemented his place as a fan’s favourite. When asked what Exeter City meant to him, the Grecians’ number 12 said: “For me, it’s the family feel and the fans and the idea that we’re all as one.
“That’s what we try to implement inside the training ground and when it comes to matchday – we’re all as one together. That’s going to get you places and hopefully we can do that this year.”
