Alan and Artur selected in the dream team
Exeter City duo Alan Gow and Artur Krysiak have been named in the League Two team of the week after City’s 3-0 victory at The Crown Ground on Saturday.
The Grecians ran out 3-0 winners with Gow curling home the first before showing fantastic technique and imagination to make it 2-0 and that has secured him a place in the Press Association’s XI along with Krysiak who chalked up his first clean sheet of the season with a solid display.
“Artur had another really good performance, he was immaculate,” said manager Paul Tisdale.
“Alan stood out with his goals, there is no doubt about it. Goals win matches and Alan has produced them. Alan’s second goal certainly outfoxed the goalkeeper. It was certainly hard to read as a goalkeeper!”
When asked after the match whether he’d tried that skill (known as a rabona) in a game before Gow said: “I don’t know the name for it – I’ve been doing it since I was young. As long as it goes in it doesn’t matter what you call it!
“I’ve scored like that in training before but not in a match. I tried to improvise and get it in the back of the net.”
Alan and Artur were joined in the dream team by York’s Daniel Parslow, Port Vale's Sam Morsy, and John McCombe, Bradford defenders Rory McArdle and Andrew Davies and former Grecian Billy Jones, now at Cheltenham.
In midfield, Oxford United Adam Chapman and Torquay United's Billy Bodin take the wide slots. Rene Howe scored twice for the Gulls in that win and he takes his place up top alongside Gow upfront.
