Mr Red’s tips, with Bet Butler

Loads of great odds through City's betting page

Morning all.  Mr Red here.  Did you miss me?  Well I’m back, and I wanted to let you know all about Exeter City’s new betting website, in partnership with Bet Butler.

It couldn’t be simpler – the service picks the best available odds from more than 60 worldwide bookmakers, from one account.  So you’re guaranteed an incredible price every time you place a bet.  And every time you win, the Exeter City wins too.  Just log onto exetercity.betbutler.co.uk and see what all commotion is about.

People often say to me, “Mr Red, how is it possible that your good pal Bet Butler can give such amazing odds?”   I wish I knew – but I just go with the flow, and I’m here on his behalf to give out some great tips.  Here’s one: take a brolly with you to Plainmoor this afternoon.

I’m also here to point you in the direction of some amazing odds for this weekend’s fixtures across the Premier League and Football League.  And where better to start than City’s trip to Plainmoor later today?  If it's not a washout, you can back the Grecians at the incredible price of 21/10.  Sure, Torquay have the third best home record in League 2 – but Exeter have the second best away record with seven wins from the 11 road-trips.  Could it be a fourth win on the bounce away from home?  You wouldn’t bet against it (but you’ll probably bet for it).

Meanwhile, you can back Wigan for a home win against Arsenal at a staggering 17/4 in the lunchtime kick-off.  The cliché goes: “Wigan can beat anyone on their day”.  And it’s true!  The Latics beat the Gunners 2-1 at the Emirates last season, and Arsenal’s season has gotten off to a bit of a stinker if we’re being honest.  Sure, they pulled apart Reading on Monday, but it’s all smoke and mirrors – they’ve only won two of their last eight Premier League games.  “So have Wigan!” I hear you bellow.  But it’s normally around this time of year that Roberto Martinez begins conducting his Houdini-esque magic, so an outside bet wouldn’t be a bad idea.

And do you think you can find better odds than 31/10 on Cardiff winning away at Leicester?  That’s right – the Bluebirds, sitting pretty at the top of the Championship, at such a generous price.  Anyone who saw them picking Blackburn apart live on Sky Sports last weekend would agree that it’s worth a punt.  Only second-placed Crystal Palace have come away with three points from the King Power Stadium this season, but that’s evidence enough that a top team can to the East Midlands and grab the nettle.

In League 1, third-placed Sheffield United travel to tenth-placed Crawley – and they’re available at a whopping 7/4.  The Red Devils’ win at Stevenage was only their first victory in eight games – and while the Blades haven’t exactly been setting the world on fire recently, they have one of the tightest defences in the division.  So they’re not a bad shout at those kinds of odds.

I can hear you thinking, “Second-placed Port Vale?  At home to third-bottom AFC Wimbledon?  Surely the odds will be awful?”  Well, they’re not.  They’re actually bloomin’ excellent.  8/11 is the price you can get, for what looks like one of the weekend’s most nailed-on results.  With Tom Pope firing on all cylinders for the Valiants at the top of the League 2 goalscorers chart (with Curo hot on his heels, I hasten to add), it looks like easy pickings, depending on how bold you’re feeling.

So hopefully my good buddy Bet Butler and I will turn this into a very merry Christmas for you indeed.  And don’t forget – if you register to Exeter City’s betting page and place five £10 bets at evens or bigger, just email enquiries@betbutler.co.uk to let my good mate Bet Butler know you’ve done it and he’ll send you a £25 voucher – which you can spend on tickets, a replica City shirt, club merchandise, or whatever you like from the club shop!

All odds correct at the time of writing.  Exeter City and Mr Red encourage supporters to bet sensibly and within their means.
