Draw to take place on Soccer AM
The draw for the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy will take place on Saturday 17th August.
As usual, the draw will take place live on Sky Sports’ Saturday morning show Soccer AM, at approximately 10.30am.
The first round ties will then be conducted on the week commencing Monday 2nd September.
In this first round, the draw is split into four regional sections, with a number of teams also receiving a bye into the second round. The regional sections and byes are as follows:
Northern Section – West
Accrington Stanley, Bury, Crewe Alexandra, Fleetwood Town, Oldham Athletic, Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers.
Northern Section – East
Bradford City, Burton Albion, Hartlepool United, Notts County, Scunthorpe United, Sheffield United, Walsall, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Southern Section – West
Bristol City, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Exeter City, Plymouth Argyle, Portsmouth, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers.
Southern Section – East
AFC Wimbledon, Brentford, Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Milton Keynes Dons, Northampton Town.
Northern Section Byes
Carlisle United, Morecambe, Preston North End, Rochdale, Chesterfield, Mansfield Town, Rotherham United, York City.
Southern Section Byes
Crawley Town, Newport County, Oxford United, Swindon Town, Coventry City, Peterborough United, Southend United, Stevenage.
