Pick the best season in City’s history
As part of the 125th Anniversary celebrations of the Football League this year, we’re on the lookout for a series of ‘greatest’ Grecian-related things.
The voting is already open for the greatest manager to ever grace the dugout at St James Park, and now the voting is open for the Grecians’ greatest SEASON in the Football League.
There are three options to choose from for City fans:
1980/81: Glorious FA Cup run that took Division Three Exeter City to the quarter-final, defeating Leicester City and Newcastle United en route.
1989/90: Undefeated at home all season (20 wins from 23), as Terry Cooper's Exeter lifted the Fourth Division title.
2008/09: In the first season back in the Football League after being relegated in 2003, Paul Tisdale guided Exeter to a second consecutive promotion to reach League 1 by finishing second in League 2.
