Pirates the first to visit SJP this season
Exeter City’s 2013/14 campaign will begin with the visit of Bristol Rovers to St James Park on the first day of the season, on Saturday 3rd August.
Before the dust even has a chance to settle from the opening weekend, we’ll be straight back at the Park for a midweek Capital One Cup first round tie against Queens Park Rangers (exact date and time TBC).
The first opportunity of the new season to clock up some miles on the road comes on Saturday 10th August, as the Grecians travel to Field Mill to face newly-promoted Mansfield Town.
As ever, the Devon Derbies against Plymouth and Torquay offer the prospect of both points and pride. We will host the Pilgrims on Saturday 5th October before travelling to Home Park on Tuesday March 25th, whilst we’ll visit the Gulls at Plainmoor on Sunday 29th December and play the return meeting at the Park on Easter Monday (21st April).
Also in the festive schedule, we’ll be making a Boxing Day trip to Jamie Cureton’s new side Cheltenham Town, before welcoming Wycombe Wanderers as our first visitors of 2014 – in a switcheroo from the season just ended, the Chairboys will be the ones travelling to SJP for the New Year’s Day game.
Later that month, Bristol Rovers will host the reverse at the Memorial Stadium on Saturday 11th January, and recently-relegated Hartlepool will be the 46th and final League 2 game of the regulation season on Saturday 3rd May, as we make the daunting 700-mile round-trip to Victoria Park on the closing weekend.
All fixtures are subject to change.
