Sercs: “I can’t wait for the fixtures”

Liam looking forward to seeing fixture list

City midfielder Liam Sercombe says that he and the rest of the squad are just as excited as fans at the impending release of the fixture list.

Our League 2 schedule will be announced promptly at 9am tomorrow (Wednesday) on exetercityfc.co.uk – and like any other City fan, Sercs will be keeping a close eye on the announcements.

The Exeter-born man scored City’s goal in the 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle at St James Park last season, and he says the derby fixtures are amongst the games he’ll be looking forward to when the fixtures are broadcast.

“I can’t wait for the fixtures to come out,” said Sercs.  “I’ll be sat in front of the TV, waiting to see our fixtures come up and who’ve got on the first day.

“All the players will be just like the fans – checking out when our fixtures are and seeing when the derbies and other big games are too.  Those derby matches are so important to us.  I think everyone involved in the club will be the same.”

One Exeter fixture has already been confirmed, as Queens Park Rangers are going to be amongst the first to visit St James Park in 2013/14.  Following the Hoops’ friendly against City in pre-season, they’ll also be visiting in the Capital One Cup on an evening on the week commencing Monday 5th August (exact date/time yet to be confirmed).

“I think that’s a really good draw for us,” continued Liam.  “It will be great to have a team like QPR right at the start of the season to see how well we do, and then we’ll kick on in the league after that too.”

Head to exetercityfc.co.uk at 9am on Wednesday to see our fixtures as soon as they’re announced.
