Striker gives verdict on Capital One Cup tie against Bournemouth
After the Grecians were drawn at home against AFC Bournemouth in the first round of the Capital One Cup, first-year pro Matt Jay is looking forward to the challenge of facing the Championship outfit.
Eddie Howe’s men will visit the Park on the week commencing 11th August, with the exact date and time to be confirmed.
“It’s quite exciting – they’re a big team so we’re all looking forward to that,” said Jay.
“They are a big Championship side now so it’ll be a hard game, but it should be a good game.”
Jay was in an under-18 side that won the Youth Alliance South West title last season, but who were on the end of home and away defeats to their counterparts from the Cherries.
“They have been good throughout the years whenever we’ve played them," he continued.
“They are a strong side and I’m sure that follows on through.”
