Centre-half keenly anticipating the fixture list
Grecians defender Pat Baldwin is looking forward to having the 2014/15 fixture list laid out when the schedule goes live on Wednesday morning.
Despite having been through the formality of fixture release day plenty of times before, it is still a source of excitement for 31-year-old Baldwin.
“When you see fixtures coming in, you get that excitement back and you’re desperate to get going,” he said.
“It’s a really exciting time when the fixtures come out and there’s quite a few games that I’m personally looking forward to.
“It’ll be interesting to see where we’ll be come the start of the season.”
Before the season starts in earnest, however, the Grecians have pre-season fixtures scheduled at home against Reading, Swansea and Torquay.
And amongst the pre-season fixtures is a trip to Brazil to face Fluminense in a celebratory fixture to mark the centenary of the birth of the Brazilian national team - Exeter were the first opponents in 1914.
He continued: “It’s certainly a different location! I’ve been away in pre-season quite a few times but certainly not one as exotic as Brazil.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for everybody, from the kids going to the management and coaching staff.
“It gives us all a chance to get to know each other that little bit more – you can be together for two seasons and not get to really know some of your teammates, so this sort of trip will give us an opportunity to bond and get closer together ready for the season.”
