Stephen Bratt to oversee Cobblers tie
Stephen Bratt will referee City’s six-pointer at home to Northampton Town on Tuesday evening.
Perhaps ominously from a Grecians point of view, this is Bratt’s sixth visit to St James Park and City have won none of the previous five. Bratt has overseen two cup defeats to Shrewsbury and QPR, draws with Gillingham and York and most recently the 2-0 home defeat to Southend in November.
On a more positive note, Bratt had the whistle for City’s impressive 3-0 away win at Morecambe last season as City secured a record-breaking tenth win on the road at the Globe Arena.
Bratt started refereeing in the Football League in the 2006/07 season and so far in this campaign he has taken charge of 14 matches, showing 25 yellow cards and just the one red, to David Connolly in Portsmouth’s 2-0 defeat to Chesterfield in August.
