Manager on the return of Alex Nicholls to Exeter City
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale spoke of his pleasure at being able to reintroduce Alex Nicholls to the Grecians’ ranks in a loan move from Northampton Town. The attacker returns to Exeter on loan from the Cobblers until January, having previously spent five weeks as a loanee with the club earlier this season.
The Stourbridge-born forward slotted into the team quickly in his first spell, and he was recalled to Sixfields at the start of October.
And the City boss was pleased that Northampton had made the 26-year-old available for a return to the Park.
Tis said: “It was up to Northampton and whether they would allow it – I had said to Chris Wilder that if at any point he would be able to come back to us, then let us know – and he did. So we’re very pleased to have him back.
“He’s a very good player, he adds strength in depth, and he fitted in very well when he was here. He played six games and fitted in really well.
“Alex is the type of player that suits our fluid style and hopefully his form of a month or two ago can be repeated. He is here until January and we will try to make the very best of the situation.
“He certainly won’t need preparing to play in the team because he knows it inside out already, which is a big plus for us.”
