Academy duo called into Wales Under-16 squad

Smallcombe and Ampadu to play for Young Dragons

Exeter City are delighted to announce that Academy duo Max Smallcombe and Ethan Ampadu have both been called up to the Wales Under-16 squad ahead of a friendly international against France this week.

The news follows hot on the heels of the recent England Under-20 call-up for Matt Grimes and Christy Pym, who also came through the ranks at the Academy.

Max stepped up to the under-16 level at the Academy this season, while Ethan has just entered the under-14 age-group at the Cat & Fiddle, and will be playing with and against players up to 21 months older than him.

Wales Under-16s will play two fixtures against France Under-16s, on Tuesday 23rd September (7pm) and Thursday 25th September (6pm).  Both games will take place at the FAW’s National Football Development Centre at Dragon Park, Newport.
