Programme honoured by trade magazine
Exeter City’s matchday programme, The Grecian, has received a hat-trick of commendations by trade publication Programme Monthly & Football Collectable in the Sky Bet League 2 category. In the overall running, The Grecian was named as joint runner-up with Bury in the Programme of the Season category for 2014.
Additionally, ‘History of City in 24 Objects’ – a regular contribution by University of Exeter PhD student and Grecians supporter Will Barrett – was named as the winner of Best Feature for League 2. Each matchday, Will uses an item of paraphernalia as a means to tell a different story from the history of our club. His feature can regularly be found on page 57 of the programme.
And the final acknowledgement comes for the design of the programme. Designed this season for the first time by The Graphic Design House, and printed by Bishops Printers, The Grecian was named as joint-third for Best Design in League 2 this year.
Programme Monthly has been running for over 30 years and is a long-established leader in its field. The February 2015 edition is issue number 407 and is packed full of information, news and reflections covering every aspect of football collecting, from Premier League to non-League, from the late 1800s to last week’s programme.
Media Manager Richard Dorman, editor of The Grecian, said: “A lot of effort goes in from a lot of people in creating a programme, so credit and thanks should be shared amongst everyone that has contributed to improving the product this season.
“The Graphic Design House and Bishops Printers have provided a tremendous service in our first year working with them, and the contributors have continually been first-class. A special mention for Will Barrett for claiming Best Feature, as he developed a great idea into a superb addition to the programme.”
