Former Players’ Association to be launched at Fluminense U19 fixture

Ex-players invited as guests to St James Park

Exeter City are very pleased to be launching its Former Players’ Association at the pre-season friendly fixture against Fluminense Under-19 on Monday 20th July (kick-off 7.30pm) – and all ex-players are invited as welcome guests of the club on the evening.

The fixture against Flu’s youth side will commemorate 101 years of ongoing history between Exeter City and Brazil, dating back to the first fixture for the Seleção against the Grecians on 21st July 1914 at Estádio das Laranjeiras in Rio de Janeiro.

And the fixture will also allow every player who has played their part in the club’s history from across the generations to get together again at St James Park, and to celebrate the time that they spent in the red and white of Exeter.

Former players will be able to meet their former teammates and other ex-Exeter players in the Grecian Centre from 6.30pm, where refreshments will be served, before watching the current crop of players in action with representatives from the club and Supporters’ Trust from 7.30pm.

All ex-players that are hoping to come to the fixture should please confirm their attendance by emailing Paul Farley on paulfarley@supanet.com or Alan Banks on alanandmary@blueyonder.co.uk, or by ringing the club on 01392 411 243.

Any former Exeter City players who are unable to make the fixture, but who are still interested in being part of the Former Players’ Association, should please get in touch using the contact details above.
