Liam Sercombe joins Oxford United

Midfielder moves to Kassam Stadium

Liam Sercombe has today completed a transfer to Oxford United following the expiry of his Exeter City contract.

The announcement came on the final day of the season that the 25-year-old midfielder had elected to move to pastures new during the summer break.

And the Kassam Stadium will become the next port of call for Exeter-born man Sercombe, who will link up with Michael Appleton’s squad in time for their pre-season ahead of 2015/16.

Sercombe made 263 appearances and scored 23 goals in all competitions for the Grecians’ first-team since graduating from the Academy in 2007.  At time of leaving, he was Exeter City’s longest-serving player.

City supporters will be able to make plans to welcome Liam back to St James Park in Oxford United colours when the 2015/16 fixture list is released on June 17th.

Liam departs Exeter City with the very best wishes for the future from everyone involved in the club.
