Shaun Taylor guest of honour at October's Senior Reds meeting (all welcome)

Shaun played 200 games for the Grecians from 86 to 91

The next meeting arranged by the Senior Reds will take place on Wednesday 19th October, featuring guest of honour Shaun Taylor.

A very popular player and captain, Shaun joined City in December 1986 and played 200 games for the Grecians, guiding them to the Fourth Division Championship in that remarkable 1989-90 season. There followed a big money move to Swindon Town in 1991, where he was an ever-present as his side gained promotion to the Premier League in 1992-93. In 1996, Shaun joined Bristol City, where he stayed until 2000.

An iron man in defence, Shaun had a reputation for taking the hard knocks and never shirking a tackle. He was also prolific at the other end of the pitch for a centre half, scoring 17 goals during his stay at City and 30 during a 5 year spell with Swindon.

This meeting will take place in the Courtenay Room at the Park, with a 6.00pm for a 6.30pm start. The downstairs bar will be open.

All fans are welcome, whether or not they are members of the Senior Reds.
