📝 Big Match Preview: City v Morecambe

Exeter City play their first home match of 2019 when they welcome Morecambe to St James Park in a 3pm kick-off this Saturday.

The Grecians will be buoyed by an impressive performance against Swindon Town on new year’s day as they took all three points. After a short break last weekend due to FA Cup action, they will be looking to keep up the form and continue their positive momentum.

Ahead of the match against the Lancashire side, manager Matt Taylor said: “They’re a really tough team. They’re well managed by a good and experienced manager at this level and they always cause problems and create chances against us which is something that we’ve got to be mindful of.

“We’re on a relatively good run of form ourselves and if we play to the best of our ability then we’ll create opportunities and hopefully it will be a good game of League Two football."

LAST TIME WE MET

The sides last met back in August 2018 in what was match day two of the 2018/19 season. Despite a long journey to contend with, the Grecians ran out 2-0 winners on the day with a positive performance at the Globe Arena.

Pierce Sweeney found the net for City from the penalty spot just two minutes before half-time before Jayden Stockley made sure the points were safe for City with his goal in the 66th minute.

TICKET NEWS

Saturday's match is the first match to fall under the 2019 ticket pricing which sees a small increase which means matches at St James Park will still remain accessible to as many supporters as possible, without compromising the vital revenue stream which comes from ticket sales.

Prices have increased by £1 for Adults, Seniors, and Students, with under-18 prices increasing by £1.50. These increases help to offset the increased club operating costs and marks the first increase in two years.

Tickets are on sale at advance prices until 5pm in person and midnight online, on Friday, January 11 so, why not save money and time queuing by buying in advance!

You can book online via Mobile, tablet or desktop by visiting: tickets.ecfc.co.uk or by calling: 01392 411 243 or by visiting the club shop/reception at St James Park.
