MATCH PREVIEW

When the Draw was made for the Third Qualifying Round, the visit of AEK BOCO to Devon looked, on paper, to be a favourable draw. However, this IS the FA Cup. The Bristol side have already beaten one National League side on their way to this round and will be looking to knock out another at the Sports Hub on Sunday.

Playing in the South Western Regional League, AEK BOCO have had a strong start to their League campaign. Last weekend’s victory at Swindon Spitfires saw Abigail Nicholas’ side climb to third place in the table and a strong Cup run has certainly strengthened that foundation. Victory over City’s fellow National League competitors Larkhall Athletic was amongst the bigger shocks of the last round. After going behind early on, and trailing at half time, AEK fought back to win the game with a goal from Eloise Nicholas.

Led by Captain Sasha Ferris, the team will travel South with no fear and all the expectation of causing another upset. The last time the two teams met in Devon, Exeter City were comfortable winners by twelve goals to nil, Clive Watts and his team will certainly be anticipating a closer encounter on Sunday. After a disappointing League defeat last time out, the Grecians will be hoping to bounce back with an all important place in the First Round of the FA Cup awaiting the winners.
