📝 Match Preview: 🆚 Cambridge United (A)

There is no let up in the Emirates FA Cup action as Exeter City head to League One side Cambridge United to battle it out for a place in the lucrative third round.

Following Tuesday night's 2-1 victory over Bradford City in the First Round re-replay, the Grecians head to the Abbey Stadium with some good momentum and will hope to replicate their performance from last season at the same ground, where they won 4-1.

Matt Taylor has confirmed that Tim Dieng is a doubt for the clash having picked up a quad injury, but Newport County loanee Padraig Amond is available for the Second Round having received approval from his parent club to play.

The U's beat Northampton Town 3-1 in a First Round replay following a 2-2 draw in the original tie, but were last in action on Tuesday night when they beat Walsall 2-0 in the Papa John's Trophy on home turf.

Matt Taylor's Thoughts

City head to the Abbey Stadium to face the League One side, and Taylor says he believes the game will be an opportunity for him to assess his squad ahead of a tough December run in.

"I expect it to be a good marker for us this weekend," he said.

"We prepared for this game a little before Tuesday, just in case. We are going to face a League One side away from home and there's no pressure on us in relation to that.

"We're going to go there and give it a really good go. I've watched as many games of theirs in the last 24 hours as I can - against Wigan, Sunderland and Sheffield Wednesday, so we know what we're up against.

"If we put out our best, we will have a chance."
