Josh Coley has spoken of his delight as scored his first two professional goals as City progressed through to the next round of the Papa John's Trophy with a 5-3 win against Bristol Rovers.
Coley scored twice, including one after 58 seconds, as the Grecians found themselves 5-0 up at half time - surpassing they four they put past Rovers in the first half of the league game back in August.
"My Nanna will be so proud," he said, with the family back in York watching from home.
"The lads went flat out in the first half and we all went gung-ho. We're a strong, fit team that held out for the win. We'd like to have to conceded less goals, but we've won and topped the group.
"We've got a great squad. The togetherness, the way we play, and this competition is brilliant for players to show the gaffer what they can and get more minutes under their belt."
