Matt Taylor has reacted as City topped their Papa John's Trophy group with an astonishing win against Bristol Rovers.
The Grecians led 5-0 at half time before the Gas pulled three back in the second half to make the result look more respectable.
"It was a scintillating first half performance that won us the game," Matt said.
"We had fluid movement to our game in attack. Sometimes it comes together like that. We've spoken at length this season that we feel this team can create and score goals. The mindset and attitude going into this game was absolutely spot on.
"We had Tim and Kyle in slightly more attacking roles tonight, and that was only because Harry Kite was so strong as a midfield anchor.
"There was absolutely no pressure for Sam Stubbs so far. It was great to get him out there. It's a real bonus because he has worked harder than anyone to get back on the field."
