Matt Taylor was delighted with his side's resolve as the Grecians pick up maximum points on the road.
Speaking after City's sixteenth clean sheet of the season Taylor was full of praise on the defensive strength.
"I'm delighted we kept our defensive mindset in a game where we had the better of the ball. When you have a lot of possession, a lot of time in the attacking zone you can take your mind off at the back.
"That's the most amount of chances we created in a long time. The performance from box-to-box was excellent, it was just in the final third we needed to be better. We told them to just keep doing what you're doing. I didn't feel we needed to change anything, I just thought we needed to freshen up in areas."
