Gary Caldwell has given his assessment as City fought hard to earn a point against Portsmouth at St James Park, signing off their home campaign for the calendar year.
Jamal Blackman was the star of the show as he earned his first clean sheet in nine in front of another sell-out crowd at St James Park.
"It was a very difficult game and they were a physical team," he said.
"We stood up to the test today and the clean sheet was something to build on. We created opportunities in the final third, and I can't ask anymore from the team in terms of effort.
"Jamal is an excellent keeper and I'd expect him to make those saves, but also the whole team contributed to the clean sheet today."
