Exeter City Women face a battle to progress to the League Cup Quarter Final as Premier South MK Dons visit the Sports Hub on Sunday.
City will be looking to bounce back after their first defeat in nine games at Portishead at the weekend.
Charlie Bill’s team endured a tough start to the season, losing three of their first four league games, however it has been a strong turn around since then. Cup wins against Chesham, Selsey, Gillingham, Mulbarton, and Worthing have been supported with a league win over the London Bees.
Mollie Coupar has provided the main attacking threat for the Buckinghamshire side, her nine goals this season have been support by Nicole Pepper and Lucy Wood with five and three respectively. Bill’s side will travel to Devon on a high after late, late drama in the weekend’s victory over Worthing in the FA Cup, two goals in injury time sealing a dramatic 3-2 win.
Abbie Britton and Aaron Wakley will be looking for a response from the team after a disappointing cup exit at Portishead Town, a rare loss in a strong first half of the season for the Grecians. However, on the slick Exwick surface, City should be far more at home and will hopeful of giving their higher league opponents a tough afternoon.
