Pierce Sweeney has given an impassioned rallying cry following City's 4-1 defeat to Oxford United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
A lacklustre defensive performance saw the Grecians' cup campaign come to end at the second round stage, with Sweeney saying the group need to "grow up and take some accountability" for the performance.
"A lot went wrong and we conceded some poor goals. We weren't at the races," he said.
"We were lucky to go into half time 1-0 down. I don't know what it was, whether it was a mindset thing. We're conceding far too many goals and we feel we can defend the box far better than we have been.
"It's disappointing. We've done ourselves no favours and we need to starting growing up a little bit and taking accountability for mistakes and for bad performances like today."
