📝 Match Preview: Oxford United (H)

City return to league action this weekend as they face Oxford United at St James Park.

It will be the first meeting between the two sides since an EFL Trophy second round clash in 2019, when City were victorious on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

Both teams come into the game on the back of a defeat with the Grecians losing 4-2 away at Charlton in midweek, while Oxford went down 1-0 at home to Wycombe Wanderers at the Kassam Stadium.

Kevin's Thoughts

Interim boss Kevin Nicholson has given his thoughts ahead of the visit of Oxford United to St James Park this Saturday.

It will be the first home league game of Kevin and Jon Hill's temporary charge, following a Papa John's Trophy fixture and two away league matches.

"I want our lads to go out there knowing they are good players, playing in a good team and that they are ready to go and kick on again," ahead of the game, reacting to Tuesday's defeat at Charlton.

"Oxford have good individual players and a nice balance of techincal players and pace, plus a manager hwo has been doing it for a long time.

"It's at home so it's important we control the game. I want them to come to us and worry about us."
