Captain for the day Pierce Sweeney spoke about the fantastic victory over MK Dons, what he will do when he hits the heights of 20 goals and how the signing of Jamal Blackman has shored up the backline.
“We were fantastic today, put in a good performance, in front of a big crowd, I thought we dominated the game throughout the 90 minutes, Jamal made a big save in the first half, which was a big let off for us, but apart from that I thought we were pretty comfortable.
"We’ve obviously got a new keeper this season, he’s fitting in pretty well, pretty comfortable, he’s a big fella so its going to be pretty difficult to get the ball past him. We’ve done our job and stepped up when we’ve had to.
"I just want to get one more, if I get to 20 I will retire happy. 20 goals as a defender isn’t to bad, but I’ve been very unlucky over the last couple of weeks and months with chances and stuff.
"I would be worried if I wasn’t getting the chances and if I wasn’t hitting the post and if I wasn’t getting on the end of things”.
