Head Groundsman Chaz has provided an update on the newly-started ground works at the Cliff Hill Training Ground, with all three main grass surfaces getting an upgrade over the summer.
With the new building full open and operational, attention has now turned to the green stuff - with Chaz leading a team to upgrade the pitches to the standard that Gary Caldwell and his players will play on every week.
"Pitch One has had a gentle renovation. The grass has been taken off and the drains have been exposed, and then we're dressing with 100 tonnes of sand. That'll be worked in, seeded and verti-drained.
"Pitch Two has had the most work done on it as it's very different surface and we're trying to get them all as similar as possible so they mimic the type of grounds we play at. Pitch Two has had the whole top taken off, mixed up and then the sand has gone on and seeded. The drainage will make a big difference which is just being finished.
"Pitch Three has been stripped off, levelled and sanded. That'll give the under-18s and under-16s and whatnot the opportunity to train on the same surfaces.
"We've invested heavily and we are honoured that the club have made it happen."
