Gary Caldwell gave his thoughts as City battled from a goal and a man down to pick up a valuable point away to in form Stevenage.
After Jack Aitchison saw first-half red for a second yellow card, Yanic Wildschut cancelled out Carl Piergianni's header just two minutes into the second half, with the Grecians then defending gallantly to ensure the game was not lost.
"The effort, the commitment, the character the players showed... we were absolutely outstanding in the second half in terms of working for eachother, fighting for eachother, fighting for this football club, putting our bodies on the line," Gary said.
"We showed quality to counterattack when we were running out of legs... I can't speak highly enough of the players I thought they were absolutely outstanding and they thoroughly deserved the point.
"The way we defended the box was back to early season form, we didn't really look like conceding, even down to ten men and facing wave after wave of attack."
