Gary Caldwell has given his thoughts as the Grecians prepare to take on Port Vale at St James Park on Saturday.
After a weekend without a game last time out, the group have been working hard on the training ground to rectify recent form, which they and Caldwell hopes the hard work pays off at the weekend.
"We have worked extremely hard in training to add to the positives from Shrewsbury, in terms of working better in possession and how we attack the box," Gary said.
"That has to be better and everyone understands that. They have also had time off to be with their families and regenerate that way as well. We are hoping for a lot of energy on Saturday and the players have really worked hard to ensure that.
"For me, a platform of a good team is clean sheets and showed great organisation and spirit against Shrewsbury, and we have to build on that. We have to show bravery and play our way that brought us so much success early on.
"We need to take more risks in the final third."
