Exeter City kick-off 2024 with a trip to the Select Leasing Car Stadium on New Year's Day.

The Grecians will be looking to build on a great three days that saw them pick up four points with a win over Wycombe Wanderers and a strong point against League leaders Portsmouth, as they look to pull away from the drop zone.

City's opponents Reading are going through a tough time, and after a points deduction they find themselves in 21st in the table, a place below City. Last time out they drew 2-2 with Cheltenham Town.

City know that a win against a Reading side that sit below them on the table will help to move away from the bottom four and will be determined to go get the win.

"It will be a great game to play in against a huge club. The match earlier in the season here was a great game for the club. We are focusing now on Reading and how we can beat them."

City will be backed by around 1200 fans on New Year's Day, and the players will be looking to use this backing to get over the line.

"I've said countless times how well the fans travel for us. Away wins are the best wins in football - there is nothing better than winning on the road with a strong support. They follow us all over the country and we really appreciate them!"

Pay on the day is available which is card only from an hour and a half before kick-off at the away ticket office between gates 9 and 10

How to get there

By Car

The postcode for the Select Leasing Car Stadium is RG2 OFL and is 216 miles from Exeter, taking roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes by car.

From Junction 11 of the M4, follow signs towards Reading. The Select Car Leasing Stadium is on your left-hand side after less than a mile. For SatNav systems, our postcode is RG2 0FL.

By Train

The nearest railway station is the Reading Green Park station, approximately 15 minutes' walk to the stadium. Alternatively, Reading Station is connected directly to major cities across the UK and many local towns. From there take the F1 (Reading Station Shuttle Service) commences 2 hours before kick-off and a minimum of 12 buses run frequently to & from the stadium, up to 1 hour 45 minutes after the final whistle. 

The nearest railway station is Reading, which is connected directly to major cities across the UK and many local towns. From there, take the 50A Greenwave Park & Ride bus that takes you directly to the Stadium, with an average journey time less than 10 minutes. Alternatively, a taxi from the railway station or town centre to the Select Car Leasing Stadium should cost approximately £10.

The train from Exeter St Davids to Reading Green Park takes around two hours and twenty four minutes and involves one change.

Grecian Travel

Grecian Travel, completely run by the Supporters' Club, and not for profit, will be available for City's trip to Reading. 

• The coach will depart from Unit 1 nightclub at 9am for a fare of £30.

Other pick-up points include: Honiton Road park and ride (by Miller and Carter Steakhouse), junction 28 (Cullompton services), junction 27 (Tiverton), junction 25 (Taunton). All other pick-ups by prior arrangement.
