📝 Match Preview: Burton Albion (A)

The Grecians hope to continue the good away form as we head to the Pirelli Stadium for the first time since 2014 on Saturday to face Burton Albion.

City have won three of the last four away league matches and head to Staffordshire looking to bounceback from last weekend's home defeat to Charlton Athletic.

The Brewers, who sit one point and one place above the relegation zone, won a dramatic five goal thriller away at Fleetwood, scoring in the 96th minute having conceded an equaliser in the 94th, eventually winning 3-2.

Gary Caldwell's Thoughts

The Grecians have won three of their last four matches on the road either side of the new year, and Caldwell hopes that can continue at the Pirelli Stadium, but is aware of the threats the hosts can pose.

"They're a team you have to compete against," he said.

"We're aware of the threats that they have. They will put you under pressure and put balls in your box, they'll make you defend. But we have to see that out and play our game.

"We have to show composure and get the ball down and not turn it into a fight. This is a real big challenge. How brave we are in possession will be really important.

"This is similae to Christmas when we have three games in the space of a week and we have seen what three positive results can do, so it's a really important week in our season."

Fleetwood Town 2 Burton Albion 3 | 04/02/23 | Sky Bet League One

It was a stunning five goal thriller on the Fylde coast as Burton scored a 96th minute winner away at Fleetwood, just moments after the home side thought they'd snatched a leveller.
