Manager Gary Caldwell has given his assessment as City suffered a 1-0 defeat at Port Vale, a game which also saw Rekeem Harper sent off for a second booking.
"It's a disappointing performance and result," Gary said post match.
"The pitch was poor and it was a game that was a battle and we didn't win enough duels, especially up to the red card.
"After the red card I thought we were actually better and created our best opening of the game.
"We have to be better and see out a minute of football after the red card, to allow us to bring the subs on but they go up from the free kick and score straight away.
"It's frustrating because we had a clear game plan."
