Kevin McDonald has given his thoughts as he made his full City debut in a goalless draw with Shrewsbury.
The Scot made his first start under Gary Caldwell and put in a professional performance, earning plaudits from home fans.
“It was good, it was good personally to get back out there and start the match and play 80 minutes and grind through 80 minutes," he said.
“We are struggling to break down teams in the final third at this moment in time. To a certain extent when we get on there were not clinical, we’re probably not putting bodies on the line.
“Always credit goes to the opposition, they came here on a Tuesday night and got a clean sheet and a point away from home and they’ve been on a good run.
“It’s such a good group of players here, with a desire to work hard and a lot of quality in this team. We probably need a sloppy goal at this moment in time that’s the way it seems a deflection or something which will kick start the season again.”
