Joe White has given his first interview with the club after joining on loan from Newcastle United.
The 20-year-old midfielder has signed for the Grecians on a half-season loan and will be available for City’s next fixture at home to Forest Green Rovers. He is looking forward to being part of Exeter City’s adventure in League One.
"I can’t wait, obviously first team football at a really good level, in a really good team, so yeah I can’t wait to get started training and get on the pitch.
"I text the gaffer as soon as he got appointed Exeter manager just wishing him luck and he says to me having a little joke about needing some good players in January. It’s kind of worked out well, but obviously having worked with him at Newcastle in the short amount of time we did, I had a good relationship with him."
Regarding Exeter’s history of developing young players: "Knowing Jay (Stansfield) from England, I have spoken to him quite a lot and he said yeah very good with youngsters and stuff like that, I just can’t wait for the opportunity.
"I am a creative midfielder, like to take people on with the ball, play in tight spaces, work and combine with others and I like to make the final action whether that’s assists or goals."
