✍️ Gabe Billington signs first professional deal!

Gabriel Billington has become the latest Exeter City Academy product to sign professional terms with the club.

Midfielder Gabe, who is currently on loan at Plymouth Parkway until the end of April, is the latest from a series of our under-18s side to seal a pro contract. He was also on loan at Poole Town.

He made his first team debut as a second half substitute for Alex Hartridge in our 2-1 win over Southampton under-21s in the Papa Johns Trophy, before his first start against Forest Green in the same competition.

"It's an absolutely great feeling," Gabe said.

"I'm so grateful for all the work everyone has done for me since I joined the academy aged 9, all the way to now, and to all my teammates.

"My journey has been amazing, I was a young lad just signed from a tournament, and now I've worked my way up. The coaches have been brilliant with me, they're always pushing me to perform to the best of my ability, and making us better people as well.

"I want to play for the first team in front of a packed stadium."

Head of Coaching, Brad-Lee Miller said: "Gabe is an outstanding young man, polite and well mannered and very talented. He has excellent receiving skills and handles the ball well, and he can move through the midfield.

"He had a long journey with us, and his journey has been amazing in terms of his work rate and his ethic and endevaour to become better each year. He thoroughly deserves this opportunity."
